Usage Information
Purpose of renting facilities
The Rikuzentakata Global Campus is a base for exchange activities that are cooperatively run by Iwate University and Rikkyo University. This is a place where we can discover hope in progressing along the path of reconstruction thinking together with the people of Rikuzentaka in Iwate, which suffered great devastation during the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Through learning in this space, our goal is that the university students, university affiliated individuals, residents connected with Rikuzentakata as well as those in public administration, private companies, and other groups will form various new connections. Our other goal is that through these various connections, lessons from the disaster and reconstruction as well as the profound culture and history of Sanriku will be passed on beyond the local community, country and even era. We envision that this result will transform both people and the future. We hope that those who agree with this aim will make extensive use of this facility for study programs and research activities.
Rental Spaces

Eligible Users
- Student, child, employee, or alumni of a Japanese or foreign university (including Iwate University and Rikkyo University (graduate school))
- Resident of Rikuzentakata or other surrounding municipalities
- Member of a registered non-profit organization that is active in the local community
- Rikuzentakata
- Others, individuals with permission from the superintendent
Hours
Hours are 9:00 to 21:00, split into a 9:00 to 13:00 block, a 13:00 to 17:00 block, and a 17:00 to 21:00 block, and a full day block for rental purposes. For use other than in these time blocks, please inquire at the reception.

Available usage periods
- Available every day except when closed (between 12/31 and 1/3.) (Those with usage contracts may use the facility even when the superintendent is not present.)
- Research Rooms are rented by the month. Shared laboratories are available for rental for any period longer than one week.

- Parking spaces are limited, so please inquire at the reception (the front office) in advance.
- For information regarding car rentals and accommodation, please inquire at the reception (the front office) for information on local facilities.
- There is Wi-Fi within the building, but of course a PC or other device is required to use it.
- Wireless microphones, amplifiers, projectors, and screens are available for rental at the reception (the front office). An order form must be filled in when making a reservation.
- The kitchen on the first floor of the building and the gymnasium on the grounds are not facilities that we manage, but their use can be requested in conjunction with other space rentals. To use them, a request must be placed at least a week in advance. Request these facilities when you make a provisional request or an actual reservation. For details, please inquire at the reception (the front office).
- Please consult the reception (the front office) in advance of any planned alcohol or tobacco use on the campus.
- The campus may not be used for events where the primary purpose is eating or drinking.
- Please be aware that we will take strict action against any violations of law or public policy and common decency including underage drinking or smoking. Additionally, alcohol consumption is prohibited during use by student groups.
- The content and fees of this facility are subject to change in the future. As Rikkyo University and Iwate University are the managing bodies of this facility, students and faculty of these institutions, as well as faculty of Rikuzentakata City, may use it free of charge.
